And so it begins...

This June I completed two certificate courses- Natural Science Illustration and Museum Studies. Both programs were undertaken at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.

Through the Natural Science Illustration program my classmates and I were fortunate enough to host our own exhibit at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture (where I am also employed).

This exhibit, titled Thorough Examinations, showcases scientific illustrations from each student in this year's program. My piece features a New Zealand kea and tree moss. The show runs from June 10-October 2, so get on out and see it!

I have to admit, blogging was never anything I thought I would do, but I am excited to start recording and sharing my illustration and museum experiences here! Thanks for checking it out!
